Takes twice as long, which is a pain, but in the end, I had a working Vista Without Boot Camp, the video and ethernet worked fine. No sound or bluetooth. I used Winclone a bunch in this process. Once I got the non-serial number Vista 64 installed i. At this point, I had a fully Boot Camp functional Vista I then built my Fusion VM for that partition, which required a second activation, which went through automatically.
From what I gather, you get a couple of new activations every few months. Whatever, since all these copies of Vista are on the same physical machine, they all are legal. I created a smallish Windows partition for that on my Tiger drive. But I guess the main point of this post was to confirm that you can really use the newer bit Boot Camp drivers on early, pre Mac Pros. You are commenting using your WordPress. Jan 18, AM in response to Pinoy In response to Pinoy Well, Until very recently Apple used to say they were going to support Windows 7 before the end of Notice that specific target date is no longer mentioned. To those familiar with practice of such announcement it is actually a very bad sign. Hey, they knew they were not going to fulfill this promise on time but they clerly waited with changing the message until holiday shopping season is over.
I am sure many customers made purchasing decision based on MacBook reputation and the promise they will be able to run Windows 7. But it seems that Apple is reconsidering. They know they have a lot to gain in hardware sales but also they have something to lose. Please prove me wrong. Tomasz Message was edited by: tdjastrzebski. Don't even bother with Vista. I got the latest MacBook Pro and am now running Vista x64 on it with few problems. Bluetooth and wireless both work -- in fact the only things that don't work are iSight and any of the Fn keys. I remapped the right-Apple key to "Delete" so I can log in via a registry key. I'm pleasantly surprised that it works as well as it does Post reply.
Note with a Vista Ultimate install, these were not present so perhaps they were related to Home having no 2nd CPU support. With Vista Ultimate install, neither of these problems were flagged. Although I still see very low opengl Cinebench R10 scores, although some others say they haven't - not sure why. Net 3. The initial install from the LG bundled disc which includes other apps for burning, authoring, etc. And the powerdvd 7 update from Cyberlink for OEM LG bundle version also failed to install, as it first tries to uninstall the current version which fails.
I can't begin to repeat all the things I tried manually registering the. Three attempts to use System Restore to revert to a previous restore point failed 3 different restore points tried. Restore appeared to work no errors reported during the process but after rebooting a dialog popped up that the restore had failed due to an "unknown error" each time.
