Slightly off topic, do you have a suggestion for a podcast app for intel Macs Overcast seems to be for Apple M1 chips only? Its home page only says iPad, iPhone and Watch. Thanks for the recommendation It took me a while to sort this out and to realise i needed to start from my iPad. Also how to subscribe to my paid Patreon podcasts, but I made it in the end! Many thanks Rex. The last several updates to the Podcasts app seem increasingly hostile to serial podcasts. The iOS included podcasts app was formerly an advantage over Android, where you had to find something in that app store, but not with the latest versions.
The Android selection is or was pretty bad. Pocket Casts is about the best option in terms of cross-platform compatibility. Just looking at Overcast, realizing that the search box is dark gray with black text. How idiotic is that?
That sounds like a config issue at your end, I have a light grey to define the search box, with black text. It looks like you may need to restart Overcast after switching between appearance modes. In light mode, the text is black on a light gray field with plenty of contrast; in dark mode, the text is white on gray, again with contrast. However, if you switch appearance modes for the iPhone and access Overcast, the text fades into background.

From your post, I understand that your podcasts are no longer automatically downloading. This has occurred since you installed a recent iOS update on your iPhone.
I'd be happy to help! First, I recommend checking your Apple Podcast download settings. This can be done as described in the iPhone User Guide here: Change the download settings for a subscribed podcast. If the automatic download setting is selected, turn it off, then force close Apple Podcasts as detailed here: Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Then, turn the automatic download option back on. Even though the title of the article doesn't describe your issue exactly, the steps in it are still relevant to troubleshoot, since the app is not functioning the way you expect it to.
Complete all steps in the article you can skip the step about downloading another app from the App Store , and if you still continue to have trouble, reach out to Apple Support directly. You can get in touch with them here: Contact Apple Support Cheers! View answer in context.

To customise the settings for the station, click the Settings button , then make selections for the following options. To view a station, click Library, then click the station in the list on the left. To play the station, click the Play button.
